How can i watch HDTV from my cable box on my PC?
right now i have a WinTV Go PCI turner card that allows me to watch television on my computer in a window. My cable box supports HDTV and has the HDTV package, however my turner card is unable to support HD resolution input. Is there any solution out there that will allow me to view the HD video output from my cable box at HDTV resolutions? I have a motorola 6412 dual tuner dvr at the moment. it can output on coax, composite, svideo, component, DVI, and HDMI. whatever solution i implement must allow me to work on the computer normaly just like my current tuner card.
Video capture is not an issue as the device is a DVR.
You need a capture card that supports QAM and then you'll only get unencrypted hdtv channels. With all the cable companies using different encryption nobody has a card available yet. I think ATI has an adaptor in the works, may be released already, that you can use in conjunction with Vista. To capture hdtv you'll need a ton of disk space too.
