use computer as camera hard drive/storage?
I want to record a time lapse of something and am only limited to the 8GB SD card in my camera. Is there a way so I can connect my camera to my computer and store the footage as the camera is recording? Kinda like Paranormal Activity or like a security camera does.
You did not mention what camera you are using. Some camera have a software utility to allow this. For higher end model, a Wifi or USB attachment is available to send the image taken to a computer immediately after the shot is captured.
If you are using a compact point and shoot camera, then it is unlikely to have this function.
By the way if you want to shoot unattended time-lapse sequences, you will need an intervalometer.
