will a master reset delete my contacts on a motorola razr V3m? i'd rather it didn't?
I know performing a Master Reset will reset all user selectable options on the phone, except the unlock code, security code and lifetime timer. You will not lose any photos, or tones stored in the phone. But, does it reset my contacts? The reason is my camera isn't working and a friend told me that a master reset can possibly solve the problem. I just don't want all my contacts to be deleted.
Well it is not supposed to clear your contacts.
If you scroll down, you should see a master clear on the same menu as a master reset. The CLEAR is to delete your contacts and stuff. The RESET is just to reset factory settings back to default.
If you are scared, go to your phonebook and go down to COPY and copy all your contacts to your SIM. Even when you do a clear, it does not wipe your SIM. You have to wipe your sim from the phonebook menu manually.
