how can you tell if a rechargeable lithium battery is protected or not?
Some Li-Ion battery include a small electronic circuit that protects the shuts off the battery in the event of overcharging, dropping too low in voltage under load, etc. On a cylindrical battery, it would be about 2mm longer than one without protection.
Is there a way to tell, either through the code of the battery, or through a simple electrical test, whether a given battery is protected or not?

but maybe if you bridge + and - a few seconds it should not get too hot fast and prolonged if its protected
or try and make it explode xD
