home security camera remote

Remote Desktop, video viewing?
We are trying to set up security cameras at home. The security cameras seem to work fine, and I can get Remote Desktop to work, but when I view the video through the Remote Desktop, the video becomes all black. Is there something we are doing wrong? Anyway to show the video through remote desktop,
FYI we were using logmein for the remote desktop.
Is there a web console for the cameras? Check out the manual of this camera model and technical docs on their website, see if there is any luck.
If it really need remote control, try VNC.
Below it is my previous Answer about how to set up remote control session across internet and LAN for your info.
Commonly, that kind of Remote control softwares only work within LAN, and you need to do something to make Remote Control across WAN and LAN.
>By VPN (Virtual Private Network).By that you can get your computer connected to remote LAN.
>Build a terminal service ( Remote Control server) on one of machine in the LAN; and on the router, forward the ports the terminal service using to the machine. In that way, the terminal server acts like a bridge. Computers outside the LAN get to the server first, and from the terminal server you can go any machines in the LAN..
>Use Remote control management tool, like Kaseya remote control. Most of remote control toos, such as VNC, MS terminal service, K-VNC,PAdmin and PC-anywhere, are integrated in the management tool. It is easier way to visit any machie agent installed over the world from wherever you have internet access. Anyone interested in it just contact me.
