Picture quality of DVI to HDMI on LCD Monitor?
Hi,
I have a 22" LCD Monitor which I normally use for PC. It has a DVI output.
Looking to now use this to stream TV from a Motorola DVR box.
I know that there is a DVI to HDMI cable that will make this work. The question I have is two-fold...
1. My LCD Monitor has 1680 x 1050 resolution and 700:1 image contrast ratio, Will the picture quality be ok?
2. Will the DVI/HDMI cable also provide sound?..or do I need separate cable for that?

dvi doesn't provide sound regardless of the fact that hdmi does.
also, there are 2 kinds of dvi...
should work ok, but you will still have to run sound and chances are your tv wont accept sound outside of hdmi if you use the hdmi interface...
