What are the pros and cons of color grading?
For instance, how does color grading increase cinematic appeal (especially in digital video)
Are motion pictures that are shot digitally (like The Social Network) color graded in post to give a cinematic appeal, or is it all done in camera and with lighting/filters/etc.
ALL set and scene lighting is done BEFORE the camera rolls.
Digital video needs NO filters. The colour temperature adjustments are set in the camera before shooting takes place.
Changes in colour is done before shooting. It costs much less to shoot with the scene in the correct colour balance than to later try to make changes in post
