CCTV camera's IR light reflecting on the window?
Hi,
I bought a CCTV camera which has infrared LED lights for night vision. I want to use my camera from inside to look outside on my property through the window. It works fine during the day, but when the infrared lights come into play at night, the whole picture becomes messed up due to the double glazing window with the infrared lights reflecting all over the place, giving a useless image.
Is there anyway at all to fix this problem. Apart from putting the camera outside instead, is there anything that can be placed over the camera or the window to stop this reflection?

Try this experiment.
Turn on some outside lights. Go inside and turn off all the lights so it's dark inside. You should be able to see the outside pretty good.
Now, turn on the lights inside. When you look outside, what do you see? Probably a bunch of glare and you probably won't see much of the outside.
So, If you want to illuminate the outside, you need to have your IR illumination source(s) outside. If you can't place an illumination source outside, then place the illumination source right at the window. You may need to put a box over the illumination source to keep the light from spilling to the inside.
